The North Shore Art League (NSAL) teamed with PRIMITIVE for its second “Auction for the Arts” on Dec. 15, 2011.
The benefit auction and reception were held at the gallery loft space of PRIMITIVE, located on Jefferson Street in Chicago, and catered by Trueman of Winnetka.
Approximately 80 guests attended to view original works from PRIMITIVE vast collections. The auction items included rare authentic furniture, artifacts, textiles, prints, paintings and jewelry from around the globe. Items were available for preview on the BePRIMITIVE website prior to the event, with sales culminating at the benefit. The League is continually reaching out to promote the arts in its various forms. The art displayed at PRIMITIVE demonstrates artists’ talents from dying silk, to intricate carvings, to creating hand-loomed carpets.
The NSAL portion raised from the auction will be dedicated to funding Art League operations and its annual scholarship programs recognizing the achievements of area high school art students. The North Shore Art League is a not-for-profit organization, in its 88th year, dedicated to enriching the human spirit and the life of its community through art education and exhibitions.
For more information about its quality classes, workshops, programs and special events, contact the NSAL office at (847) 446-2870 or see northshoreartleague.org.
