1. Northwestern University Chamber Orchestra, Robert G. Hasty, conductor, performs at 7:30 p.m. May 31 at Northwestern University’s Pick-Staiger Concert Hall, 50 Arts Circle Drive, Evanston. Through songs, individual reflections and a narrator’s observations, the musical explores the conundrum that is man and his volatile relationship with those around him, especially woman. 3. “A Conversation With Alice Stuart,” 3-5 p.m. May 25 in the Forum Room on the second floor of the south tower of the Northwestern University Library, 1970 Campus Drive, Evanston. The folk, blues and rock guitarist and singer visits as part of the ongoing digital humanities project, “The Berkeley Folk Music Festival Project and the Digital Study of Vernacular Music.” Free admission.
